10 Valuable Ideas To Absolutely Achieve Greater Success

Do you know what a mentor is and why s/he or they is/are so important to you?

The definition of the word, mentor, as published in one dictionary is:

an experienced person who advises and helps someone with less experience over a period of time.”

Why a mentor is important to you becoming all you can be, do, or have during your life is best expressed by two people whose names you will readily recognize—Ralph Waldo Emerson and Sir Isaac Newton.

Emerson says:

“What I need is someone who will make me do what I can.”

Newton’s view on why a mentor is important is:

“If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.”

One more icon’s view for good measure.  Stephen R. Covey said:

“If you say to one flower, ‘Grow,’ but you water another, the first one won’t grow.”

So…a mentor can help you expedite achieving all you can be, do, or have by providing you water from their well of knowledge and skills while also helping you discipline yourself to do what you can do.

If you are like so many people, however, your biggest challenge is finding credibly, experienced people who are willing to advise and help by allowing you to metaphorically stand on their shoulders.

One of the most powerful impacts of the global TED movement is how you and others can be mentored through the amazing thought leadership available to you with just a click of a key on your computer.

Below are ten examples on the topic of this post (acquiring the knowledge and skills for achieving greater success) to illustrate my point.
