3 Wonderful Little Ideas Adding Up to One Big Idea

The concept of vision is critical to seeing the potential in the big picture.  No…I’m not talking about your ocular characteristics.

The vision I’m talking about is much bigger than even your ability to physically see the world around you.

It is the vision defined as: “the act or power of imagination.”

Realizing your greatest potential is directly tied to your ability to imagine that potential even before it actually exists.

Think about the idea of vision as did Napoleon Hill: “Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.”

So, the big idea is developing a keen sense of vision as to what you would like your life to be.

I have three little ideas that go into you being able to create a powerful vision for your future.

Maybe you should be asking different questions? Say, like, Why are you worthless? or, How do you measure your worth?

It’s important that you have an answer to any of those questions. The reason is if you don’t know your worth (value), you have no basis for giving to others. If you don’t give to others, you truly are worthless to them and yourself.

You have to get yourself to a point in life where your sense of giving far outweighs you sense of receiving. It’s the old adage, The more you give the more you get! It sounds contradictory but the fact is your true abundance lies in the worth that you distribute to others.

By the way, I’m not reserving this discussion only to your material worth. While material wealth can be very helpful to yourself and others, it is not the only measure of your worth. Put it in the perspective of an unknown author.

“The real measure of your wealth is how much you’d be worth if you lost all your money.

Again, I ask: What’s your worth? Having a clear vision in that regard is critical to experiencing a life well-lived.

You read a lot about the idea of abundance, today. I’m not talking about a cornucopia of various foods like you have seen in any number of pictures.

I’m talking about the concept of abundance tied to your self-actualization. When you think with a mindset of abundance, you understand that you don’t have to take from others to receive. In fact, the more you give the more you get!

Or, to put that another way, the more unselfish you act the more abundance you attract. Abundance both in terms of relationships and things, if things are your thing!  :<)

Thinking with a mindset of abundance takes only a flip of a switch…

  • It’s not caring who gets the credit but that the job is well done.
  • It’s releasing your petty jealousies and celebrating the success of all concerned.
  • It’s believing that the sum of the parts is truly greater than the whole.
  • It’s giving without expectations of return but purely for the joy.

I could go on and on. Suffice it to say, s/he who is selfish will never achieve what they relish.

Having a clear vision of how you can perform an unselfish act or acts is the key to your ultimate self-actualization.

There’s the old adage, the best things in life are free.

Sounds simple enough and, also sounds about right when you think about it. But, I want you to think about it a little differently.

When you look all around you, there are some beautiful things to see. It can be in the form of the wonder of nature.

It’s beautiful to see a shimmering city spread below at night as you as stand on the observation deck of one of the world’s stunning skyscrapers. Or, what about the beauty of an emerging life in whatever form?

The point is you can see beauty all around you, if you look hard enough. And, it’s free!

There’s another one of the senses to consider here…your sense of hearing. There’s no doubt there are some wonderful and beautiful things to hear in the world.

Think of the soaring notes of your favorite song. Consider the beauty of hearing the song of a bird in the breathtaking quiet of a Sunday morning walk. It’s amazingly beautiful to hear the cry of a newborn baby. You can hear beauty all around you, if you perk up and pay attention. And, it’s free!

Think of all that beauty you can see and hear! It’s amazing, isn’t it?

Here’s the twist. There’s even more beauty to experience in your life. It’s the beauty you experience when it comes from the heart.

The beauty of feeling love for someone and from someone. The beauty of feeling the glow when you have done something charitable or kind for another person. The beauty of experiencing the feeling of true peace of mind. Those beauties from the heart can’t really be seen or heard.

Develop a vision making you able to live from the heart and you will see and hear more beauty and wonder in your world.

So—that’s the 3 little ideas to help you develop the big idea of having a vision for your life.

Which little idea will you work on first?
