3 Zinger Keys to Making Wonderful Progress in Your Life

If you are going to do the right things in the right way at the right time to get the right results, you cannot take shortcuts.  In fact, one of Murphy’s laws says:

A shortcut is the longest distance between two points.

It’s like the lyrics for a Beatles song, The Long and Winding Road.  During the story told in the lyrics of that song, the search is for the door of a long lost lover.

There are no shortcuts in that long and winding road.  It takes the searcher through wind, rain and a pool of tears.  And…at the end of the song’s lyrics, it is a mystery if the pursuer ever finds the lover’s door.away-542479_1280

I wouldn’t call that doing the right things in the right way at the right time and getting right results would you?

My guess is you are like most of us.  You wouldn’t want to experience the pain of a similar mystery at the end of your life.  You would rather achieve the desired result of self-actualizing (reaching all you can be, do or have).

Well, practice the following 3 keys to making wonderful progress in your life and you will get the desired result.

There is no such thing as making progress toward something that is totally illogical.

For example, one of your financial goals in life is to consistently earn $100,000 per year.  However, you also want to own and operate a $30,000,000 private, seagoing yacht.

Where’s the logic in that? !!!!!

In other words, it may be totally logical for you to be able to work your way to $100,000 annual earnings.  If you do the right things in the right way at the right time it will happen.

But, a 30 million dollar yacht on that income?  I don’t think so!

Logic will take you from point A (your current earnings) to point B (your desired result of $100,000).  Saying that another way…build your plan and work your plan and you can’t fail…which brings you to the next key.

Here again, there are no shortcuts to making progress toward your logically driven goals.  Or…nobody ever got nothin’ out of  doin’ nothin’!

Here’s what one article has to say about the virtues of hard work.  It totally reinforces there are no shortcuts to becoming all you can be, do or have.

History records many stories of people or organizations that experienced “overnight success” but could not sustain that success.  Here’s one story to illustrate the point.

When you work hard for what you have over an extended period of time, you achieve a degree of stability.  You’ve built your success brick by brick and not with smoke and mirrors.

b2ap3_thumbnail_MP900321192Hard work!  It works every time because it requires you to do the right things in the right way at the right time to get the right results.

So—logic and hard work are the first two keys to making wonderful progress in your life.

However, you have to recognize you will have failures even if you are pursuing logical goals and working hard toward them.

What to do???

Well, for sure…don’t give up.  When you give up…you wrap up!  You’re done…stick a fork in you!

Quitting is never the right thing to do in the right way and there never is a right time!  It’s not a shortcut to ease your pain.  It is a dead-end that will drive your misery!

Here’s where the third key comes in…imagination overcomes it.

Use your imagination to take a positive approach to overcoming any roadblocks that stand in your way.

Imagination is nothing more than the ability to think in new ways to achieve different results.b2ap3_thumbnail_j0400379_20121129-220257_1

But, you say something like:  “I don’t know how to use my imagination.”

That’s no excuse!

Here’s an EPIC article on the topic of your imagination.  Don’t imagine you read it…read it!!

So what are you going to do first in efficiently and effectively reaching your potential in life?
