Change Is Good

Now, there’s a novel idea!  Making change something that is acceptable and actually good.  Who wants it?  Who needs it?  Why bother?  Answer:  You do because without change no new good has a chance of happening to you.

Let’s say you’re in a stage in your life that is so good you just want to put everything on hold.  Keep it just as it is for the rest of your life.  That would be so wonderful you think!

Okay.  Let’s take a look at that attitude for a minute.  While I can understand your feelings, the reality is what is so good for you now will be so bad when the rest of the world passes you by.  The definition of what is good today will inevitably be bad tomorrow when something better comes along.  And, it will!

Do you truly want to be stuck in today when the change of tomorrow rocks your world?

Two quotes to finalize my point:

Oliver Wendel Holmes said:  “Even if you’re on the right track you will get run over if you just sit there.”
Harold Wilson said:  “He who rejects change is the architect of decay.  The only human institution which rejects progress is the cemetery.”

I would add that even in a cemetery we add fresh flowers once in awhile.  Change is good!
