The idea of giving your consent can be a little tricky at times.  I mean, if I understand the meaning of the word, when you give your consent you’re giving your approval or persmission about something.  In most cases, if you have truly considered the ramifications of giving your consent, then doing so is probably okay.

But, here’s where it gets tricky.  It’s when you allow others to impact your feelings about yourself in a negative way.  Who are they to tell you what you should feel; or how you should act; or what you should do?  Who are they?  They aren’t you that’s for sure!  So, they can’t impact you negatively unless you allow them too…give your consent, in other words.

It’s like Eleanor Roosevelt once said:  “No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.”  Powerful thought.  Use it in a powerful way.  Don’t allow others to take away who you are and, therefore, what you can be!

Give yourself permission to believe in yourself regardless of the opinions of others.
