Different Perspective

It’s everywhere you turn!  The morning news shows.  The afternoon news shows.  The evening news shows.  The Sunday talk shows.  It’s in the printed news.  It’s on your public access channels.  Like I said, it’s everywhere!  Here’s the problem…it gets us nowhere!

What am I talking about?  It’s all the visceral, violent, disrespectful, uncivilized expressions of different perspectives between people.  It’s almost like having a different point of view is a declaration of war!  People don’t presume there is any merit in any different perspective that doesn’t track with theirs.

Come on, People!  If there weren’t different perspectives on things there wouldn’t be opportunities for all.  If the common good is only defined as a common perspective, you have a common misconception that freedom is free.  You can’t be free when not encouraged to develop your own perspective on things.  On the other hand, you can’t be free if you don’t allow for the freedom of others.

We all have to take a step back and look for the opportunities to understand different perspectives.  Understanding brings compromise.  Compromise brings civility.  Civility brings order.  Order brings freedom for all.

Now that’s a different perspective from too many these days!  What’s your perspective?
