Sometimes in life when you look at the goals you are striving for they seem to be a long distance away.  There seems to be a huge gap between where you are and where you want to be.  The distance can seem so great that a mirage appears making your vision of the goals that much more unclear.

No doubt it can be a challenge.  But, maybe it’s your perception of what your goals should be that needs to change.  In other words, maybe you need to think about goals in the short distance rather than way off in the distant future.  If you chunk those distant goals into short-distance segments, you will make steady progress and not feel so overwhelmed.

When you focus too much on long distance issues, it’s hard to see the opportunities right under your feet, so to speak.  Be happy for what you can achieve in the short-term because it will give you the peace of mind necessary to achieve long-term.

The distance between where you are and where you want to be is reduced by the clarity of your near-sighted vision and the consistency of your near term actions.
