How To Accomplish A Successful Happy Life

I’ve referred to General Custer in past posts.  I think I’ll do it again in this one.  He serves as such a great example.

The arrogance of the man is well known to history buffs.  The historical accounts of George Armstrong Custer—the ultimate example of an over confident military officer—are numerous.

The over confidence and arrogance cost him and almost all his 7th Cavalry their lives.

Had he expected what was to come it would have never happened.  His arrogance convinced him there were only a few hundred Indians camped along the Little Big Horn that fateful day in June, 1876.

Unexpectedly, there was somewhere in excess of 6,000 Indians just waiting to greet the flashy general as he and his men rode up onto the crest of a hill overlooking the river valley.

The rest is history, as they say.

But, we’re supposed to be focused on you accomplishing a successful, happy life.  Recalling Custer’s annihilation doesn’t seem to illustrate either success or happiness.  Quite the opposite!!

Let’s flip this whole idea of “unexpected” over to why it may be so valuable to you in living a life of success and happiness.

What will you do in the future to live for the unexpected?
