Life’s a Gift Whose Layers Are to be Unwrapped

b2ap3_thumbnail_j0437339The exquisite comedic talent of the late Gilda Radnor was something to gleefully enjoy back in the day when she was a principal performer on Saturday Night Live.  But, Ms. Radnor was not just a comedic face who died from cancer at much too young of an age.  She was philosophically very powerful as well.

A case in point is the following quote from her.  “While we have the gift of life, it seems to me the only tragedy is to allow part of us to die whether it is our spirit, our creativity or our glorious uniqueness.”  Right on, Gilda!  Think about the power of what her thought means to you and your life.

Certainly, you have dreams and a hope for your future.  The key to realizing those dreams and converting that hope to reality is not allowing yourself to give up on either.  Don’t die a premature death in any aspect of your life.  Believe in the power of your indomitable, human spirit.  Yours is just as powerful as the next persons.  Tap it for all you’re worth and you will become all you can be.

I believe every person has a personal creativity that has the only potential to impact the world in the singular way it can.  Your passion is the source of your creativity.  Find those things for which you feel passion and the resulting creativity can change the world.

Why?—because, as Gilda Radnor professed, of your “glorious uniqueness.”  I’ve referenced the following statistic in other posts but it is applicable once again here.  Scientists have estimated the physiological odds of anyone of us being born at 2,240 trillion to one.  If that does not define “glorious uniqueness” then nothing will.

Your life is a gift.  Unwrap that gift by letting your spirit soar; your creativity impact; and your uniqueness flourish.  The world will be all the better for it.
