Safety In Numbers

I don’t know about you but when it comes to numbers as they relate to mathematics, I get lost very quickly.  Try to take me and numbers beyond basic addition, subtraction, division and multiplication and those very same numbers turn into Greek very quickly.  Calculus, as an example, suggests to me the plural of calculate as far as I know about it!

So, I’m not referring to numbers in the mathematical sense because as I just admitted, I know little about them in that context.  On the other hand, I do know that your chances of success in life are much more limited if you don’t play the numbers.

By that I mean, you can’t just give yourself one chance at success.  You have to force the odds in your favor by giving yourself multiple chances at it.  Think about it.  If you have only one idea on how you can be successful, what happens if the idea doesn’t work?  However, if you gather a number of ideas and work them all, some will fail but they will help you reshape the others so you can ultimately achieve success.

That’s what I mean by safety in numbers.  The more ideas or options you put into your success formula the greater the odds-on answer will equate to your success.
