Saving Private Tryin’

Okay, here’s the deal.  Too many of us whine about this and whine about that.  One example:  Those that scream about saving the earth and it’s resources but don’t really have the capacity to impact the necessary changes needed to do that.  Don’t get me wrong!  I happen to have a very strong belief that we have to strike a much better balance between using and conserving the world’s natural beauty and resources.  I’m just saying whining and protesting is not the  answer.

So, what is the answer?  I believe it lies in the philosophy behind a well-worn but true statement:  “You can’t save the rainforest by meditating on it.  You have to buy the rainforest.”

Here’s the point.  If more of us would work to create private wealth, we would have greater control of public waste.  With wealth comes the power to change things.  With lack of wealth, there is little hope a single, private person could impact the wasting of the world.

I believe the saving of our world ultimately rests with “private” people “tryin'” very hard and “saving” their pennies into wealth.  And, then applying a portion of that wealth (through their private decision) for the common good.
