Self Confidence Key to Your Success

b2ap3_thumbnail_affirmations-441457_1280Yes, your success demands you have a vision; meaningful goals; a plan for achieving your goals; strategies for adapting as things change; and committed action for as long as it takes.  Try to succeed without any one of the foregoing success factors being in place and you are doomed to failure.  PERIOD!

So, there you are, do all those things and success is yours.  WRONG!  The one thing that must permeate each of the factors to success is humble self-confidence.  Notice I used the word, humble.  In other words, I am not talking about arrogance as to your ultimate success.  There is a dramatic difference between being arrogant and self-confident.

To quote the Merriam-Webster Dictionary arrogance means:  an insulting way of thinking or behaving that comes from believing that you are better, smarter, or more important than other people.  You’ve seen living examples of the kind of people that are arrogant and they come from all walks of life:  business, sports, entertainment, etc.  I could name a few but I won’t annoy you with my judgments.  You can make your own!

The bottom-line is those who are well-rounded, successful people are more humble than arrogant.  Successful people don’t have to resort to “an insulting way of thinking or behaving” because their actions are congruent with their inner self-confidence.  What’s that mean?  Self-confident people are quietly certain that something will happen or that something is true.  They don’t think of being “better, smarter, or more important than other people.”  Their focus is on an inner feeling of belief.

So, when you consider the five factors for success I mentioned in the first paragraph of this post against the concept of arrogance, what results?  Simple!  Trying to fulfill any one of those factors from an attitude of arrogance will trip you up every time.  You will miss something and fail miserably.

Quiet belief in yourself (self-confidence) is the key to not missing something and staying on your road all the way to success.
