Vision to Absolutely See It Is Required Before You Can Have It

Alice in Through the Looking Glass had a form of vision.  Recall she could see an imaginary world on the other side of the mirror above her mantelpiece.   However, when she stepped through the mirror into the world she called “Looking-Glass House,” what she saw in her vision from the front side of the mirror and what she got after stepping through it were totally different.

That is NOT the kind of vision you want of what your future success looks like.

First, consider the concept of your mind’s eye.  Your mind’s eye is defined as the mental faculty of conceiving imagery.  The concept is metaphorically illustrated in the featured image above this post.

As you look at this image your current reality would seem to be you are looking at a puddle of splashing water.  The image is stark and clear but in the middle of the image there is represented just as starkly and clearly a reality you may prefer to see in real time.  It’s of the sun setting behind clouds with a small flock of birds passing in front of it.

Aww…but the setting sun and surrounds in this vision is just in your mind’s eye.  To create reality from that image in your mind’s eye you must redirect your gaze from the reflective image up to the reality in the sky.

And, so it is for anything else you want in your life.  You must see what it is you desire just as clearly and starkly as the sunset in the above image.  The trick is your desire must be so strong it creates the image in your mind’s eye so you are forced to take the appropriate actions to make what you want a reality.

Does that tell you a little something about the importance of having a clear vision of what you want out of your life?

The focus of your life’s vision is on your destination…a view of all you want to be, do or have.  It’s important because if you can’t see it, you can’t reach it.    Conversely, if you can see it, you can reach it.

Choose to have a philosophy of life that gives you clarity as to where you want to go.  With vision comes purpose and with purpose comes motivational power to reach a goal.  Vision first…then action.

Here are some specific actions you can take around empowering and using the vision of your mind’s eye.

Find your passion by asking yourself WHY achieving your vision is so important to you.

Your vision statement should clearly define your destination in the future. Be brutally succinct in two or three sentences at most.

For a resource explaining how to create a great vision statement for a small business go to:  http://www.businessnewsdaily.com/3882-vision-statement.html

Develop a positive affirmation related to your long term vision and state that affirmation at least three times daily…morning, noon and night.

Place your written Vision Statement in prominent places which will force you to look at it several times each day.

You truly can have anything you REALLY want.  Recognize you must have a vision that sees it BEFORE you can actually have it, however.
