What For?

Good question, right?  Well, let me put its importance in perspective for you.  Here’s the bottom-line on why I asked the question:  It’s to get you thinking about all of the things for which you have to be thankful.

Let’s face it.  We all get busy with our lives and many times don’t stop to reflect.  Here we are one week before another Thanksgiving Holiday; the year is almost over; and what have we done to truly consider all the good things we have to be thankful for.  Here’s what I suggest you do sometime before December 1st.

First, find a quiet spot where you can quiet your mind.  It could be the local library, your favorite park, your home, where ever you can truly get away from it all for just a few minutes.

Having found your quiet time and spot, begin to make a list of everything for which you should be thankful.  Here’s a few categories to get you started but be creative and add your own:

  • Personal health
  • Family
  • Friends
  • Relationships
  • Spiritual
  • Personal achievements
  • Work
  • Home
  • City/Town
  • State
  • Country
  • World

Then you ask:  What for?  The answer:  The reflection will lift you up and give you a sense of the wonder of your life that will leave you in a state of mind of peace.  Isn’t peace the ultimate thing for which to be thankful?

Happy Thanksgiving!
