You See a Mirror Can Actually Teach You About Yourself

Living life with an attitude of maximizing your potential requires an attitude of “Gain” rather than “Drain.”

Here’s what I mean by that contrast. It comes back to the often-used metaphor in the question: Is the glass half full or half empty?

If you have an attitude of “Gain,” you will think the glass is half full. In contrast, with an attitude of “Drain,” you will believe the glass is half empty.

Here’s the key point…either attitude is one of choice. Gain or Drain? Positive or Negative? Half full or half empty? Happy or Sad? And, on and on.

You make the choice in every instance and in every day of your life.

The certainty of life is…it is limited in length. The uncertainty of life is you don’t know how limited the length of your life is.

Why, then, would you want to spend any amount of time in your life dwelling on the negative?

What a drain on your potential to enjoy the opportunities and general wonders of a life lived to its fullest!

A full life is about opportunities realized regardless of the life’s length.

So, to synthesize what I’m saying into a couple of sentences. The sewer of your life is filled through the drain of negative thoughts. Plug the drain with an attitude of “Gain.”

Consider the following thoughts as one idea for doing just that.

Wouldn’t it be incredible to see something no human has ever seen before or will ever again?

Well, look in the mirror…it’s you!

Prior to the day of your birth no human had ever seen you. You’re one of a kind and once your life is over there won’t be anyone quite like you ever again.

Talk about a living breathing miracle! Let’s put some additional perspective to that last thought.

Scientists have estimated the physiological odds of you being born at 2, 240 trillion to one. That’s twelve zeros after the 2,240!

That’s the equivalent of over twelve million round trips to the sun. Mankind has only been able to make a few round trips to the moon. Making over twelve million trips to the sun and back would be an amazing miracle.

You are an amazing miracle!

Look at yourself in the mirror.

Consider the uniqueness of your personal mix of trillions of human cells.

No one else in the world has a mix of those cells exactly like you. You’re it! There isn’t another “you” anywhere else in the universe.

Billions and billions of stars, planets, other forms of cosmic matter, people, other living organisms and you are unique among them all.

What more proof do you need of the fact that you are, therefore you can be anything you want to be?

Use “mirror motivation” every day to teach yourself you can do your best to become the best you can possibly be.

How are you going to use your mirror to teach yourself an attitude of “Gain?”
