You’ve Been Tricked

Nobody likes to be tricked in this life.  Safe statement, wouldn’t you say?  On the other hand many people are tricked daily by the way they think.  They don’t have a clear perspective of reality because they have a fuzzy vision of their world.  A fuzzy vision born of their own trickery.

If you want to avoid being tricked in your life by your own thinking, then you’ve got to challenge your thinking.  You can’t presume you’re being honest with yourself.  The only good test of that honesty that I know of is for you to look in the mirror.  If you have a queasy feeling in your gut, you know you have been tricking yourself.

If that’s the case, try switching your honesty switch on by adjusting your thinking.  Get in front of a mirror and ask yourself some serious questions:

 

  • Do you really believe in who you are?
  • Are you truly excited about your direction in life?
  • What is truly important to you?
  • Why do you feel success or failure, currently?
  • Are you willing to commit to what you have to do to make the changes you need to make?
  • Do you think of rain as a negative event or good news for the food sources that sustain you?
  • How balanced is your thinking regarding what you have versus what you enjoy?
  • What does your family really feel about you?
  • Why do you not have peace of mind?
  • What specifically are you going to do to avoid tricking yourself into a reality that isn’t true north for you?
  • By when will you make the necessary changes in your life so you can look at yourself in the mirror and be happy rather than queasy?

 

When you can provide yourself honest answers to the above questions, trickery loses to truth.  When you deal only in the truth you will never have to feel you’ve been tricked again!
